Tour Itinerary

Day 1:

Arrival in the morning or evening at New Delhi IGI Airport Terminal 3. Traditional Indian welcome with a flower necklace and transfer to the hotel by our local representative.

Day 2:

Departure for the Shekhawati region, famous for its havelis. Havelis are residences decorated with frescoes and various motifs, which belonged to wealthy merchants trading on the Silk Road between the Indus Valley and Central Asia. Installation in the village of Manadawa, former haveli of a noble family of this village, a true small palace. Departure to visit haveli of Goenka and Jhunjunwala. In the evening, visit the markets of the village of Mandawa.

Day 3:

Departure for Bikaner. On the way, visit the Nadine Le Prince haveli, a haveli restored and restored to its original state by a French artist. Settle into Bikaner, the city founded by King Rao Bika in the 15th century on the edge of the Thar Desert. The city was built from red sandstone. In the evening, visit the markets of the city of Bikaner and visit a cafe and the factory of Indian appetizers and pastries. (Possibility to visit the temple of rats in Desnoke)

Day 4:

Visit Junagarh Fort, an impressive fort, which was formerly called Chintamani and then renamed Junagarh in the 20th century, meaning the old fort. It is one of the few forts in the region not built on a hill, but on the plain. It is therefore reached on foot and not on elephant back. The fort was built by the prime minister of Raja Rai Singhji, the governor of the city of Bikaner, who ruled between 1571 and 1611. Then visit the camel farm. Day 5:

Departure for Jaisalmer. Then on the way visit the Phalodi Fort, Jain temple and its markets lined with local artisans. Settle into Jaisalmer. At the end of the day, visit the Bada Bagh (royal cenotaphs) at sunset.

Day 6:

Visit the Golden Fort (Sonar Kila) built in 1156 by the Rajput ruler Jaisal, Patwa-ki-Haveli, Salim Singh-ki-Haveli, Nathmal-ki-Haveli and the Jain temples of Jaisalmer. Departure for a camel or Jeep ride in the Thar Desert (Sam Village 40 km from the city). Evening entertainment by Rajasthani gypsies with traditional dances and music and dinner on site. Return to Jaisalmer

Day 7:

Departure for Jodhpur. Visit the Hindu and Jain temples of Osiyan. Settle into Jodhpur, the “blue city” founded by Rao Jodha in 1459. Visit the royal cenotaphs of Mandore. In the evening, visit the Jodhpur market.

Day 8:

Visit the Mehrangarh Fort, nicknamed the “magnificent fort”, overlooking the city from a height of 122 meters and the Jaswant Thada memorial dedicated to Maharaja Jaswant Singh II in 1899. Visit the Mandore Gardens. Discover the ancient blue city of Jodhpur.

Day 9:

Departure for Jojawar, a small, picturesque village between Jodhpur and Udaipur. Accommodation in Jojawar. Scenic ride in the Aravalli Mountains by miniature train, which will take you to the heart of Rajasthan’s most beautiful forests and mountains. This getaway is also an opportunity to connect with the local population, always eager to meet visitors from far away. In the evening, visit the village of Jojawar.

Day 10:

Departure for Udaipur. Check-in in Udaipur and visit the Saheliyon ki Bari Garden of the Ladies. In the evening, traditional Rajasthani dance and puppet show at Bagore ki Haveli.

Day 11:

Udaipur, also known as “The Venice of the East,” is the most romantic setting in Rajasthan thanks to its numerous lakes and magnificent palaces, including the famous Lake Palace. Visit the City Palace and the Jagdish Temple. Day dedicated to visiting the city and the bazaars of the ancient city of Udaipur. In the evening, boat ride on Lake Pichola. In the evening, Indian cooking class and dinner on site.

Day 12:

Departure for Bundi. On the way, visit Chittorgarh Fort, the largest fort in India. It bears traces of three Muslim invasions and testifies to the pride of the Rajput warriors. Settle into Bundi and visit the old town. Discover the Rani’s well adorned with sculptures, the cenotaph with 84 pillars, and the royal tombs.

Day 13:

Visit Bundi Palace. Then depart for Pushkar. Settle in at Pushkar and visit the Brahma Temple, the sacred lake and the lively markets of Pushkar. Visit the gypsy and musician camp and enjoy a half-hour show of traditional Rajasthani music.

Day 14:

Departure for Jaipur. Settle in to Jaipur and then visit the Palace of the Winds (Hawa Mahal) and the Valley of the Monkeys (Galta Temple). In the evening, explore the old town, also known as the “pink city,” and visit the Laxminarayan Temple.

Day 15:

Jaipur, capital of Rajasthan, founded by the astronomer king Jai Singh II between 1688 and 1743. Visit the Amber Fort and climb to the fort on elephant back or on foot / by Jeep. In the afternoon, visit the Astronomical Observatory (Jantar Mantar) and the City Palace. Stroll through the bazaars of the “pink city” and discover its historic districts.

Day 16:

Departure for Agra. On the way, lunch and a visit to the fortified city of Fatehpur Sikri. It was the imperial capital of the Mughal Empire from 1571 to 1584. Built by Emperor Akbar, perfectly preserved since its abandonment, it is a remarkable example of 16th-century Indo-Islamic architecture. Settle into Agra. Visit Agra Fort, one of the most beautiful Mughal-style forts built in 1565 by Akbar and enlarged by his grandson Shah Jahan. In the evening, visit the bazaars of the city of Agra.

Day 17:

Early morning visit to the Taj Mahal, one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Built at the request of the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan as a tribute to his beloved, its construction mobilized more than 20,000 workers and artisans from around the world. Return to the hotel for breakfast and then departure for New Delhi. En route, visit Akbar’s Tomb. Check-in in Delhi and visit India Gate.

Day 18:

Visit Delhi, the capital of India, an ancient, medieval and modern city. Discover Old Delhi: visit the largest mosque in India; the Jama Masjid mosque, and the spice markets of Chandni Chowk. Then visit Humayun’s Tomb, the tomb of the second Mughal Emperor of India who inspired the architecture of the Taj Mahal and visit the tallest minaret in India, the Qutub Minar. Evening, visit India Gate, memorial to the Indian soldiers who died during the First World War in the British Indian army and the Anglo-Afghan wars.

Day 19:

Transfer to the international airport for your return flight to France.
