Tour Itinerary

Day 1:

Arrival in Delhi in the evening. Welcome by our guide. Transfer to the hotel for the night.

Day 2:

Departure for a panoramic orientation tour of the capital. Delhi, with its 20 million inhabitants, is distinctly divided into the old and new cities (New Delhi and Old Delhi). Visit the Chandni Chowk district, the Jama Masjid mosque, the Red Fort (a glimpse), India Gate (the triumphal arch), Rajpath, the Presidential Palace, a visit to the famous Sikh temple, and continue to the Shekhwati region, characterized by small villages surrounded by sand dunes, home to havelis, the homes of wealthy merchants who once made their living from the camel trade between India and Central Asia. Havelis, also called “open-air galleries,” are veritable small palaces with walls adorned with painted frescoes.

Day 3:

The day will be dedicated to the Shekhawati region. After breakfast, discover the famous “Haveli” in the villages of Mandawa, Fatehpur and Nawalgarh. Walk to discover the daily life of the villagers. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 4:

Breakfast, then departure for Jaipur. En route, stop in the village of Chomu for a walk. You will discover the colorful daily life of the village’s inhabitants. Then continue to Jaipur. The afternoon will be devoted to visiting Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan, also known as the “Pink City.” The city of Jaipur was founded in 1728 by the warrior astronomer, Maharaja Jai ​​Singh II. Visit the City Palace, the Mahraja’s palace, part of which is still inhabited by him. The palace houses a collection of Mughal miniatures.
Then visit the Jantar-Mantar astronomical observatory. It was built by Jai Singh II between 1728 and 1734, and houses the most accurate sundial in the world.
Glimpse of the Hawa Mahal or “Palace of the Winds”: an extraordinary section of wall from an ancient Baroque-style palace considered one of the marvels of Rajput architecture. The many windows adorning its facade are designed to allow the women of the royal harem to see outside without being seen in return.

Day 5:

After breakfast, depart for an excursion to Amber Fort, 10 km north of the city. During the Mughal era, this was the former residence of the Maharajas. Ride on elephants to the fort’s ramparts. Amber is the former capital of the state, founded by the Minas and abandoned several centuries later when its Maharaja Jai ​​Singh settled in Jaipur. Day 6:

Breakfast and departure for Agra. En route, you’ll visit the famous city of Fatehpur Sikri, founded by Akbar, the greatest Mughal ruler. A magnificent UNESCO World Heritage Site. Continue to Agra to visit Aitmaud-Ud-Daula, the Baby Taj (the Taj Mahal is officially closed every Friday).

Day 7:

Breakfast, then departure for a visit to Agra, one of the highlights of Mughal art and architecture. The Taj Mahal, the country’s most famous monument, is considered the eighth wonder of the world. This luminous white marble mausoleum inlaid with semi-precious stones was built by Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his wife, Mumtaz Mahal. Next, visit the Red Fort, whose high red sandstone walls overlook the Yamuna River. Departure for Delhi. Arrival in the late afternoon. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 8:

Breakfast then departure to Haridwar (the gateway to the god). Haridwar is the capital of the Haridwar district in the state of Uttarakhand. It is one of the nine holy cities of Hinduism. Every twelve years, the Kumbhamela takes place. It is here that the Ganges emerges from the Himalayas to flow into the plains. Walking tour in the old town and on the ghats along the Ganges “Har ki pauri (The walk to God) to discover the divine life of the thousands of Sadhus and faithful Hindus who come every day for ablution and purification. “Arti” dinner in the evening on the ghats with oil lamps. Day 9:

After breakfast, departure for Rishkesh. Arrival at the hotel, check-in. Rishikesh is a city in the state of Uttarakhand, in northern India. Located at the foot of the Himalayas, this city is 350 m above sea level and runs along the Ganges. Being so close to the source of the Ganges, the city has a sacred character. During the Yatra period, many pilgrims come here to perform religious activities in the many temples and along the ghats. The number of sadhus is very high. Ashrams dot the city, among them the Swarg Ashram, the Sivananda Ashram, and the Kailas Ashram Brahmavidyapeetham. These institutions have seen eminent personalities pass through. Several temples are located in the city, including the Neelakanta Maha Deva Temple at the foot of the bridge. Since 1968, the city has become world-famous following the Beatles’ stay at Maharishi Mahesh Yogi’s ashram. The band’s White Album is partly based on the work they did during their retreat at the ashram. Visit the Bharat Temple, Triveni Ghat, Ram & Laxman Jhula Ashram, and the Ghats. Day 10:

After breakfast, depart by road for Delhi. Arrival in Delhi, then free time for a walking tour of the city. Farewell dinner. Transfer to the airport for your return to flight.
