You will be taking part in a tour that has proven itself. You will discover the land of the Maharajas between Delhi, the current capital of India, Agra, the ancient Mughal capital and Jaipur, the Pink City, capital of Rajasthan.
Arrival in Delhi in the evening. Welcome by our guide. Transfer to the hotel for the night.
Breakfast at the hotel. Delhi will then open up to you: you will begin with a visit to the Gandhi Memorial (Raj Ghat), a symbol of non-violence for independent India. Then, a tour of the old city with its ancient houses and charming streets crisscrossed by strange electrical wires, and finally, a visit to the largest mosque in Asia (Jama Mosque). You will then continue to the new city, where many official buildings such as ministries and embassies are located. Lunch in a typical restaurant. In the late afternoon, you will discover the Sikh temple, Bangla Saibh, a center of brotherhood and humanity in the Hindu religion. Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
Breakfast at the hotel and departure for the city of lovers: Agra (240 km; 4 hours drive). Check-in at the hotel. Visit the Red Fort: it is the largest fort in India combining Hindu and Mughal styles. Lunch in Agra. Then you will go to admire the most beautiful monument in India: The Taj Mahal, a gigantic mausoleum in memory of the wife of Emperor Shah Jahan and a jewel of Mughal architecture. Return to the hotel will be by horse-drawn carriage to enjoy a beautiful ride. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Breakfast at the hotel and departure for the pink city: Jaipur (200 km; 4 hours drive). The road will be made up of 2 important stages: one is the dead city of Fatehpur-Sikri which is particularly well preserved in its typical Indian architecture. The other is the Abhaneri reservoir, dating from the 8th century and forming a “well of stairs” the deepest in the country. Arrival in Jaipur at the end of the day. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Jaipur. Breakfast at the hotel. In anticipation of Prince Albert’s visit in 1876, the Maharaja painted the entire city pink. Visit Amber Fort with an elephant ride. Lunch in the city. Then visit the City Palace, where the royal family still lives, and the Palace of the Winds. The evening will be very original as you will meet an Indian family to cook your dinner with their help, which you will enjoy at their home. Return to the hotel for the night.
Breakfast at the hotel. This is the day of return to Delhi (250 km; 4 hours of driving). But before leaving Jaipur and India, you will take a stroll in the old city, where you can do some shopping: jewelry, pashmina, teas, spices etc. Lunch will be taken in Jaipur. Departure for Delhi. Dinner then transfer to the airport for your return to Paris.
